Biography

Patricia Murphy Macdonald has been working as an artist since graduating with honors from Emily Carr University, Vancouver BC in 1988. She is formally trained in painting and works in oil, watercolour and mixed media. Macdonald has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows throughout Canada. Her ongoing work is inspired by everyday life and ordinary objects. In a pop art tradition, Macdonald paints the incidental and mundane creating a sense of irony and whim. She lives in the Gulf Islands with her daughter and husband artist John Macdonald.
